Concrete surfaces are by far the best looking way to decorate the outside areas of a home. Yet, they can also be used for inside flooring as well. At times though people think that pouring concrete is a simple procedure that you can get anyone to do. That’s not entirely wrong, but if you want to guarantee good results and a great-looking surface you have to get real pros on the job.
In all of Irving including the Las Colinas area and much more, you can count on us to get the job done for you.

About Us

We’ve been providing our services to this area of North Texas for many years. Therefore, there is a good chance that before we even arrive on your property we know what our main challenges are going to be. Sure, we could work outside of our “jurisdiction” and get good results. Stamped and
Decorative Concrete

For a lot of folks, it can be important to have the opportunity to decorate their concrete surface and create a truly unique area. We can help you build gray concrete areas as well, but if you want to make the space your own stamped concrete could be a good option. We can add unique patterns and “stamps” to the concrete surface. In decorative concrete procedures, the way to make the concrete unique doesn’t have to be through stamping perse. What we can do is add all sorts of colors and designs to the surface.

Patios and Pool Decks

Here in Irving, we get really hot summers and chilly winters in certain years. The hot summers are a must, the snowy winters not so much. In any case, what we want to do is help you create an area that you’re going to be able to enjoy hopefully for extended parts of the year. With pool decks for example we want to make sure that the concrete is smooth, but hopefully not overly slippery when wet. When it comes to patios, what we want to know is what you intend to use the area for. Do you want to have a grill spot? Do you care if the concrete has a certain color or design? These are all things that we can help you navigate to ultimately create the surface.

Concrete Repair

While concrete surfaces are meant to last for a long time, it’s not uncommon that at some point they’ll start showing some signs of wear and tear in the form of cracks or having the concrete surface get a little rough over the years. Even if we did not set up the concrete surface in the first place we’re going to be able to help you repair it to ensure that it gets back to looking like it did in the old and better days.
I had a pool deck built by these fine folks, and it was one of the best investments I’ve made. The surface is smooth yet not overly slippery when wet and my grandkids certainly enjoy the heck out of it. - Frank R.

I never knew you could turn concrete from the dull gray floor to the colorful surface I have now. The results that I got from this company speak for themselves. - Victor P.

Irving Concrete repaired my driveway and I never realized a lot of the wear and tear that I had been seeing in my cars over the years had been the fault of the awful driveway that I used to have. Certainly an eye-opening experience for me. - Claire E.

Sidewalk and Driveway

In these types of projects, we offer the same custom style concrete of course. What tends to make these projects unique though is the fact that we need to make sure that sidewalks are made in accordance with local guidelines. Also, we want to ensure that driveways flow accordingly onto the street. A lot of times leaving a steep incline in that border between the street and the driveway can take a toll on your cars in the long run. That’s certainly something we don’t want to see.

Foundation and Finishing

Are you having foundation issues and you don’t know who to call? Well, we hope that now you do. We help you repair or even set up poured concrete foundations. We provide inspections to spot any potential issue or give you the peace of mind that comes with knowing everything is ok. At the same time, as with all of the things that we do you can count on us having the ability to provide unique finishes.

Commercial Concrete

If you need a company to help you with a large-scale project like creating a parking lot, or even a private road we can be your ally. We have experience in this realm working in various shopping centers over the years. As well as other types of areas. Even in larger-scale projects we like to provide the same level of attention to detail that makes all of our jobs successful.

Retaining Walls

Retaining walls are an essential way to protect your home from erosion, landslides, flooding, snowmelt runoff and more! If you’re looking for the right contractor to build an attractive and functional barrier around your property that will last for years to come, we have everything you need at our Irving location! We offer curb and gutter walls as well as low profile retaining wall services. These walls can also act as decorative features or plantings on an otherwise barren surface. Retaining wall concrete is made of cement, sand, water and gravel to form blocks that will last for years! There are two types of retaining walls to consider for your landscaping needs. The first is a concrete wall, which can be either cast-in-place or slip formed and features integral reinforcement in the form of rebar that ensures stability over time. This type of structure is perfect for elevated areas where they may not have been able to install underground drainage systems or other structures below ground level before construction began. The second type are timber barriers made from pressure treated wood posts with steel supports as needed to ensure stability. These look great installed alongside flower beds or walkways and come in various heights depending on what you need!

Concrete Tilt and Tilt-Up Construction

The concrete tilt method is not only economical, but it also minimizes construction waste. The advantages of this process are realized in the design phase when architects can take full advantage of large openings between windows and doors that would be difficult to achieve with other forms or materials such as brick or stone. This high-end look creates a more elegant exterior for any building type, which has been seen on office buildings across the country since 1970s. In addition to being durable and affordable, Concrete Tilt Construction offers many environmental benefits over traditional methods like wood frame construction. Wood requires significant energy consumption during manufacturing processes due to all the cutting involved; whereas Concrete Tilt Construction cuts down on these harmful emissions by using precast walls that are built to last and provide industrial buildings with concrete that lasts.

Pool Decks Irving Texas

Concrete pool decks are a sturdy and long lasting construction. They can be used for in-ground concrete pools or concrete deck surrounds of other concrete structures, such as concrete patios and concrete walkways. Concrete pool decks create an unending amount of usable space once the concrete is cured or hardened. The right concrete pool decking will last nearly forever while providing a safe place to swim, play, get exercise, or lounge around on hot summer days.

The most basic type of concrete pool deck is a poured slab that forms the top surface of your pool. This surface is usually constructed out of 1/2"-thick pre-made slabs with dimensions that match those on the bottom side of your concrete pool. Before concrete can be poured, the concrete pool deck area must be excavated to provide a flat surface from which concrete can be poured and level with the concrete for your concrete pool.

The concrete slab should then be leveled using either a laser or water/string method. When creating the concrete pool deck, it is important to take care that there are no low spots in the concrete slab as this will lead to pooling of water when it rains or an accumulation of debris at these locations. Low areas need to be removed by adding more concrete so they are high enough to meet standards set forth by building codes. The top layer of your concrete slab may also have additional layers added on top of it such as a waterproof membrane if you plan to use concrete pool decks for a concrete patio or concrete walkway.

A concrete pool deck may also be constructed using pre-made concrete pool deck tiles. Using these materials means that you do not need to pour concrete and wait for it to set in order to enjoy your new concrete pool deck.
Concrete pool decks are very durable but require some upkeep from time to time. They should be cleaned every year with a pressure washer and treated with a concrete sealant that works well on concrete. It is recommended that loose debris, leaves, and other matter be removed before the sealant is applied. Delaying the application of concrete sealant may leave an unsightly stain on your concrete pool deck after a few years.

It is important that you use concrete pool decking materials that have been certified by being stamped with a live load rating. A good rule of thumb is to never exceed 70 pounds per square foot if you plan o put people or furniture on your new concrete pool deck. Always keep in mind that an extra layer of protective material, such as concrete pool deck tiles, will lower the actual concrete pool deck surface by about 1/4".

In spite of their sturdiness, concrete pool decks may crack over time. Should cracks develop in your concrete pool deck you may fill them in with a concrete plaster that is applied directly to the wet concrete. This provides a durable and protective seal when it sets up but can only be used on small cracks as this type of concrete repair material is hard to work with once it begins to set up. Filling larger holes or cracks in your concrete pool deck may require the use of a pressure-injected epoxy grout that creates a solid, permanent bond between any pieces of cement. If done correctly, this method could last nearly forever if your concrete pool deck has already been treated with concrete sealant.

Concrete pool decks are a great long lasting option for your concrete pool area or concrete patio and concrete walkway. Not only will they last forever but it is also very easy to clean, maintain, and repair them as the need arises. You can choose from pre-made concrete pool decking material that requires no pouring of concrete or you can opt for poured concrete slab options if you want a higher degree of customization or personalization to your concrete decking. Whichever route you chose it should match seamlessly with the bottom side of your concrete swimming pool so both sides have a uniform look and feel. The pre-made concrete pool decks may be more economical than poured slabs depending on your concrete pool decking needs. Both concrete pool decks or concrete slabs may also look good with concrete pool coping installed on the top side for a truly custom concrete pool deck appearance.

Concrete pool decks are an attractive and long lasting option for any concrete pool area or concrete patio but they do require upkeep to maintain their beauty and functionality. Taking care of them is easy as it mostly involves applying a concrete sealant every year in order to protect them from staining, discoloration, cracking, and damage due to sunlight exposure. They should also be cleaned regularly using high pressure water hoses to remove any algae that may have grown on the surface and use concrete repair products when necessary if they become damaged by cracks or holes in the concrete.

Stamped Concrete and Patterned Concrete

Stamped concrete is concrete that has been patterned by pressing an imprint into the concrete mix before it sets. Stamped concrete is typically stamped with patterns or logos by various pattern stamping machines. Decorative concrete can be used to create a wide range of designs including, concrete floors, patios, pool decks, concrete ceilings, concrete walls, concrete stairs and concrete countertops. Stamped concrete is one of the most versatile types of concrete because it can be used on almost any surface or for just about any application. It can also be easily repaired when damaged or worn down with a new imprint being added to the concrete mix.

Your concrete contractor will come out to your home or business and look at the location where you would like stamped concrete installed. They will then take measurements, make recommendations and help you decide what type of patterned concrete mix will work best for your project. Patterned concrete contractors are experts in their field so no matter if you want concrete floors, patios, pool decks, counters or anything else they will be able to guide you through the concrete installation process step by step.

Soon after concrete is poured for stamped concrete concrete contractors will press imprints into the concrete using various pattern stamping machines. Concrete contractors will then before finishing concrete with a sealer or polish and it will be completed  in a short period of time. Once concrete has been installed its best to try and keep pedestrians off it until concrete has dried, hardened and cured which can take anywhere from 2-7 days depending upon the weather conditions and humidity at the time concrete was poured. After that stamped concrete surfaces can be walked on without causing any damage to your newly completed stamped concrete project; however, you should still use caution when walking on freshly poured concrete so as not to cause concrete cracking.

Stamped concrete is easy to maintain because concrete contractors will always leave behind detailed instructions on how to clean, stain and seal your concrete regularly. Concrete contractors will also be available after concrete has been poured to come back out and make any touchups/repairs as needed at no additional charge. You can also choose concrete resurfacing which uses the same concrete that is already existing in your stamped concrete project. This will result in a brand new surface without having to remove or replace the existing concrete; however, you should still try to keep it looking its best by cleaning it, polishing it or sealing it when necessary with a concrete cleaner or sealer.

There are many benefits to concrete contractors for concrete surfaces over other types of concrete and building materials. Since concrete is porous in nature it will allow concrete to breathe which helps reduce the risk of mold from growing on your concrete surface. Normal concrete used in buildings and sidewalks are typically poured at a depth anywhere from 2-3 inches deep; this isn't very good for permeability therefore increasing the chance of mold taking root in what would otherwise be concrete floors, walls and other surfaces that are supposed to be dry. Stamped concrete doesn't have those issues because stamped concrete can be installed as part of any home or business with concrete that is only ¼ inch thick! This means that they can take advantage of all the benefits offered by stamped concrete such as increased durability, texture, permeability, concrete color options, concrete designs and concrete patterns/imprints.

Stamped concrete can also be a great choice for concrete floors over other types of concrete because stamped concrete does not require any special preparation prior to being installed because its perfect for concrete that has already been finished or sealed. Unlike normal concrete installation where holes have to be drilled in the floor or water has to be removed from the concrete, with stamped concrete you simply take measurements and then install it exactly as directed by your contractor. This means that once your stamped concrete is installed there will still be plenty of time to do anything else you need around the home before concrete surfaces are completely set which can save you money since contractors don't have to come back out until work on the concrete is done when concrete contractors have to come back out and repair concrete floors they are removing first.

Stamped concrete also provides homeowners with concrete color options that normal concrete simply can't match or compete with. Normal concrete used in home construction comes in one of three basic colors; gray, tan or brown but stamped concrete has a wide variety of over 45 different concrete colors alone! Having color choices other than simple grays, tans and browns for your concrete can completely change the entire look of your home depending upon the overall design you choose. There are also available concrete finishes such as colored concrete overlay, marble veins, pebble patterns, and granite textures which gives you even more ways to give stamp patterns/imprints unique looks that will complete the dream look for your custom home.

Concrete Slabs and Concrete Pours

Concrete slabs are the most common form of concrete used for construction. A concrete slab is a flat, continuous foundation built on grade (ground level) using horizontal layers of pre-mixed concrete. It can be poured directly into place or placed over a prepared base of compacted crushed stone and/or gravel (called "subgrade").

Concrete slabs can be made from either lightweight or heavyweight concrete depending on use and application requirements. Lightweight concrete, also known as ready mix or bulk cementitious composite material ("BCCM"), is typically poured in vertical lifts (or patterns). Its design strength ranges from 1 to 3 psi.  The reinforcing steel mesh in BCCM slabs consists of finer wire size that is not as strong compared to heavyweight concrete. The main advantage of lightweight concrete is that it takes less time to pour and work with since there is no need for reinforcement. It is also more economical than other types of concrete due to its minimal ingredient cost.

Heavyweight concrete, on the other hand, is poured in either vertical lifts (or patterns) or horizontal layers (also called "floats"). The slab design strength ranges from 3 psi to 10 psi depending on the type of reinforcing used: steel wire mesh, bar joists or rebar cages; and whether a permanent post-tensioning system is used.  The components of bulky items are typically built into slabs using forms so the structure under a slab can be finished prior to the concrete being poured. Rooms and other enclosed areas are often built in slabs with a floor slab, wall slab or roof slab. The main advantages of heavyweight concrete is that it does not crack as easily due to temperature variations; it has higher compressive strength for its thickness (compared to lightweight concrete); and requires less sub-grade preparation compared to lightweight concrete.

Heavyweight concrete can also be strengthened by adding ready mixed fibers or steel mesh reinforcement material into the mix. These so-called "high performance" (HP) concrete mixes are used when improved durability is needed such as in parking garages or heavier traffic floors where pedestrian loading occurs along with high temperatures which cause accelerated deterioration. However, these HP mixes can cost more than regular concrete mixes.

Heavyweight concrete can also be constructed with a permanent post-tensioning system where high strength and durability are needed. The main applications for these types of slabs are heavy traffic or parking garage floors, bridge decks, or helical piers (columns). Helical piers have been gaining popularity in construction since the 9/11 attacks due to their resistance against impact from terrorist attacks. Both pre-cast and cast-in place monolithic helical pier systems exist; however, there is an ongoing debate as to which is stronger under impact loading such as during a terrorist attack. A

Concrete construction is the process of building structures out of concrete using a variety of different methods. The most common types include: reinforced concrete, post-tensioned concrete and precast/prestressed concrete. Reinforced concrete uses steel bars, called rebar, embedded into the material during pouring so that it can support more heavy loads; post-tensioned involves stretching steel cables after pouring; and prestressed uses compressed springs under tension before hardening.

Compression strength measures how much force per unit area it takes to deform concrete or break it apart from its original shape using pressure. This measurement is expressed in pounds per square inch (psi). While concrete does have a high compressive strength relative to other building materials, it's also susceptible to weathering and other forces of nature. As concrete contractors in Irving, TX know, this strength can change over time if the material isn't able to fully harden or if there are cracks in the surface.
